Tower Grove

Tower Grove South is a diverse community with a good balance of homeowners, renters, and small businesses. The area is adjacent to the architecturally splendid Tower Grove Park, a Victorian walking park opened in 1868 that remains one of four urban parks in the county designated as a National Historic Landmark. Tower Grove has a great housing rehab culture which has continuously renovated unused storefronts and most recently has been creating single family units from former two-family flats. The architecture of the area is reflective of the rich heritage found in St. Louis. Most homes are brick with stone foundations, while some older victorian homes are frame. Many homes have oak flooring, leaded glass windows, fireplaces, french doors and more. Most homes have porches and neighbors here are friendly. It has been described as a small town in the middle of the city. Annual events include a Chinese New Year celebration, April house tour, the Festival of Nations and a November Holiday Walk.

Parks & Recreation

Tower Grove Park
At 289 acres, Tower Grove park forms the entire Northern boundary to the Tower Grove Neighborhood. Tower Grove is a National Historic Landmark, and one of only two historic Victorian walking parks in the US. Given as a gift to the citizens of St. Louis in 1868, it is also one of our oldest and most beautiful parks. Tower Grove is noted for its many Victorian gazebos which can be rented for family parties, the music stand where free symphonic concerts are held during the summer months, carriage rides, picturesque portrait settings, and wonderful walking/bike trails. Many festivals are held here yearly, including The Festival of Nations and Pridefest.

Mc Donald Park - Bent Ave and Utah
It is a perfectly sized, quiet neighborhood park, perfect for children. The park has restrooms, swings, a new playground, a soccer & softball field and a summer spray pool for children.
